In the early hours of May 14th, Lucy Danger Hair and the adjoining businesses were devastated by a three-alarm fire.
Many of you have probably heard bits and pieces over time about the struggles behind the scenes at the salon this past year - ongoing roof leaks, extensive mold issues, a tenuous relationship with a volatile new landlord, and the stress of trying to keep everything afloat despite circumstances that felt insurmountable at times. It has been emotionally and physically exhausting for a long time.
You all know how deeply I cared about the salon and how much of myself I put into it over the years. But after so many repeated setbacks, culminating in a fire that destroyed everything while I was away on vacation, I truly feel that this is a sign from the universe that it is time for a new chapter in my life. I have decided not to rebuild the salon and to leave the hair industry altogether.
As hard as this is, I feel hopeful for the future. I want to move toward something more personally fulfilling, and I’m choosing to see this as an opportunity to begin again in a different direction.
What has made this decision so emotional is the memories I have with you. Some of you have been with me for SIXTEEN years! Through major life events - the happy, the sad, and the ordinary days that became special because you were a part of them. I will never be able to fully express how grateful I am for your trust, kindness, and support over the years.
Over the coming weeks and months, as your appointments would have approached, I will be reaching out individually to provide your color formulas, important notes, and recommendations for stylists who I think would be a good fit for you. Please be patient - I have over a hundred clients to contact as my schedule was nearly full through October 2026.
Thank you again for allowing me to be part of your lives for so long.
